PROS:

Virgin Atlantic started from humble beginning, but they have grown to offer flights to 200 destinations worldwide. They are always working to provide their passengers with the best experience possible. I found the Virgin Atlantic.com website very easy to navigate and helpful. Virgin Atlantic has complimentary meals and drinks on almost every flight which sets them apart from other airlines. Virgin Atlantic offers a great variety of seat choices at fairly reasonable prices. They offer seating from Premium Economy to Business Class, and the most recent category, the Upper Class Suite. In this suite, the passenger can lay completely flat in their seat. They also are doing their part in taking care of the environment, with the purchase of new airliners that have increased fuel efficiency, as well as experimenting with using biofuels.

CONS:

Virgin-Atlantic.com charges for any extra bags, and considerably more for each extra bag added. That being said, I found this practice to be true with pretty much every airline that operates today. They also have fees for changing your ticket outside of the 24-Hour window. This can be a bit frustrating, especially if an unplanned emergency comes up and you have to pay to cancel or change your ticket.

They are innovative in that they provide services that other airlines do not, such as their own private security line for Upper Class Passengers at Heathrow Terminal. Virgin Atlantic is only one of a few airlines that don’t charge for meals, rather choosing to give them as a complimentary service. Virgin Atlantic’s commitment to the environment in all aspects of their business shows they are not just about making money, but they truly care about giving back and reducing their carbon footprint.
