Maybe the only negative aspect that is going to be mentioned in The Hardware City review is that the website does not provide any other payment methods except through MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover. This means that people who are looking to buy with PayPal accounts will have to search for another way to pay for their goods. I placed an order online. Despite allowing for a shipping address that is different from billing, I had to fill it out 3 -4 times before it would accept it. It had a default phone number which it would not let me change. I placed the order and received a confirmation that the order and shipping address was correct.The site was down so I could not see my actual order.
The order was sent to the billing address 750 miles away.They are blaming me claiming I gave them 2 billing addresses and no shipping address. This is despite the fact that the confirmation had it correct.
I do not recommend using these people online. Their website is a mess and they blamed me even though the confirmation has the shipping address correct.
No doubt, I will end up paying to have the order resent to the shipping address.
To be fair, I will add that the following week, I got an email from someone else saying they would have it picked up in NYC and redelivered to me in South Carolina. Someone must have seen the nasty correspondence I received over the weekend.
They asked me to have someone leave confirmation of my shipping address in writing and have someone there to sign for it. I did receive the order a few days later.
I would be careful using their website if your shipping address differs from your billing address as they seem to have trouble interpreting the info on their end. The guy said, yes I see that you have 2 different addresses but how are we supposed to know which is which? It your responsibility to let us know. If you fill out the form they provide, they should be able to tell which is billing and which is shipping. It seems more a case of human error than computer.
